This is our 3rd time staying at Woodfin. The room was a 1 bedroom suite -- the kids slept in the living room area on a sleeper sofa. The room was very clean and well maintained. This hotel is nice...

well the hotel is amazing. it is big yet small. four floors top floor being the executive floor. with me staying there i felt safe with the security at night walking around and with key access to my floor. when checking in I met with a young girl named alyson. she was amazing. very upbeat , energetic, and a fun girl to talk with. she was AMAZING. she to me should get some award for how she treats the guests there at the hotel. when going into my room i noticed that it was like i was walking into a small apartment. it was huge. very beautifully designed as well. flat screen t.v big comfortable bed. just a joy. the food there was amazing as well. the chefs did a great job. I will defenatly go back and stay. everytime i am in san diego I will make sure i stay there. I love the place and the workers.

My wife and I checked in for a three night stay, just to get-away. The front desk was extremely friendly at check-in and they moved us to the 4th floor upgrade without even asking. The room was...

Stayed for 3 nights with wife and two children. I know this is a business hotel, but, figured it would be very quiet. Noise was non-existant. Very close to the freeway, north or south. Only about a...

On a recent trip to San Diego, my husband and I stayed at the woodfin, and at first I was unhappy with the place because we had just driven from las vegas overnight to get there and were very much exhausted and wanted to rest up before a trip to the zoo later, but was told check-in was at 3, and they couldn't check us in before. It was 4 am when we arrived there, and we, well mostly me, was mad because there were no places open at that time, except fast food restaurants and a denny's. So we went to denny's to get some food and tried to make the meal last as long as possible. We then tried to go into the walmart but it wasn't open either, so we just parked in the parking lot and napped until around 7 and drove to the zoo to get in as soon as they opened up. We stayed all day at the zoo and around 4:30 headed back to the hotel and we got checked in and I was totally in love with the room. The bed, first of all, was enormous, with a soft comfortor, a robe hanging on the door to use, and the bathrooms had the best soap and shampoos/conditioners I have ever smelled. Not to mention after taking a shower, my hair was completly soft and tangle free. Even my husband loved the stuff. It was like having our own little apartment. The prices were very reasonable for the accomidations. We had a flat screen tv in the living area, and a couch with sleeper bed in it. We could also have the front desk do grocery shopping for us! I definatly will tell everyone I know that if they go to san diego they must stay in this hotel.

"Your long term alternative"

While looking for a 4 night stay in San Diego for my family of four (2 adults, two kids - 10 and 6), we came across the Woodfin and saw this place as an alternative to other hotels. Expedia gave us the best rate for a 1 bedroom King suite, full kitchen, $130 per night.

For the price we paid and the suite we got, it was a case of good value. The suite was about 560 square feet and had more than enough space for a family of 4. The pull out sofa bed was adequate for the kids. The full kitchen made breakfast and snacks easy. There are restaurants and grocery stores about 3 miles away (10 minute drive). The Woodfin is nestled in a business district with a couple of hotels and a Chili's restaurant all within walking distance.

Would recommend this place to long term travellers, business people and families.

“So glad we chose the Woodfin!”

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. I'd never heard of the chain before and picked it somewhat randomly when looking for a dog friendly hotel in San Diego. Originally tried to stay at the Hilton Del Mar but they were so snotty on the phone that I went with the Woodfin, which was not only much cheaper but better reviewed, and I'm so glad I did. Hotel was very clean, room was absolutely spotless and large bathroom was sparkling. Tasteful decorating, gorgeous bedding. Only stayed one night but found it perfect for what we needed and a great deal as well. Would definitely return if in the area.
